Warranty Policy:

Our Voluntary Warranty and Australian Consumer Law:

All Written in Metal products come with a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty. In addition to this, they come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Written in Metal Voluntary Warranty

Subject to the terms of this warranty, Written in Metal offers a warranty against manufacturing defects for genuine Written in Metal products purchased directly from us for a period of six months from the date of purchase (Warranty Period*). Written in Metal will offer a repair (where possible) or replacement* for items exhibiting a manufacturing defect during the warranty period. If an identical replacement is not available, we will offer a replacement item of equivalent value. Certain exclusions set out below apply.

Pieces can only be deemed faulty by us upon physical assessment. All faults deemed as the result of wear and tear are not covered by this warranty.

Exclusions to Written in Metal's warranty against defects:

  • Written in Metal's warranty does not apply to items that have been handled against our care instructions or damaged by accident or misuse. Please follow the care instructions listed on our website.
  • All metals will tarnish over time, but it will happen much faster if they have contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulphur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin pH. The amount of tarnishing (oxidation) that occurs depends on your skin and jewellery care habits. Tarnishing due to the above reasons, is not covered under this warranty.
  • Any repairs or modifications made to your Written in Metal jewellery that are not performed by Written in Metal will void the voluntary warranty.

Written in Metal’s voluntary warranty does not override your rights under Australian Consumer Law.  Written in Metal's voluntary warranty provides benefits in addition to your other rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable consumer law in Australia; and does not exclude, restrict, modify, limit, replace or override your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees. Depending on the relevant circumstances, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law may continue to apply after the end of Written in Metals voluntary warranty period.

Repair Shipping:

All Written in Metal products come with a voluntary manufacturer’s 6 month warranty. Upon initiating a repair, we will provide you with a complimentary return label if your order falls within this timeframe.

If your item is deemed as a manufacturing fault, the return shipping cost will be covered by Written in Metal. Written in Metal reserves the right to recover all shipping costs if your piece is deemed as wear and tear within the 6 months manufacturing warranty.

Outside our manufacturer’s 6 month warranty, it is at the customer's expense to safely return the piece(s) to Written in Metal. Return shipping costs will be added to your repair invoice and payment is required prior to repairing your item.

Domestic repairs will incur a flat rate fee of $10 AUD. For international customers please contact us at hello@writteninmetal.com.au for a quote. The return shipping costs are respective to your destination country. The cost will be stated on your repair invoice and additional duties and taxes may be calculable and payable at checkout.
